Results of testing the modernized tricycle with a DA-90S motor
Recently, we have told you about a new vehicle with Duyunov's motor: the Bajaj Maxima tricycle. The team of Andrey Lobov modernized it, having created a kit based on the combined winding motor DA-90S and the controller by ASPP Weihai. They also installed a solar panel on the roof. Field tests of the car were conducted by an expert in motorized vehicles, an engineer and video blogger Matvey Plotnikov. He shared his impressions with us after a week of using the tricycle. Watch the video to learn more.
The main thing that Matvey who had driven the car both before and after the modernization noted: "The tricycle has not lost anything: neither traction, nor dynamics and speed. On the contrary, the performance has improved."
We'll tell you more about the ways in which the performance has been enhanced.
- Easy operation. The electric car has become easier to drive. Even an untrained person can handle it.
- Reliability. The motor with the combined winding "Slavyanka" practically does not require maintenance, it is durable — after the installation, you can simply forget about it.
- Power. The tricycle is capable of carrying at least 500 kg on-board. But the developers decided to make the task even more challenging: they made the tricycle loaded up to 490 kg pull a "Lada-Largus" car weighing 1400 kg. Duyunov's motor coped easily with this trial! The tricycle also goes up the hill without any difficulty.
- Range and charge. The three-wheeled vehicle has a 50 Ah battery. The tests have demonstrated that the tricycle with the body removed and the battery charged to 85-90% can go 35 km without charging. According to Matvey Plotnikov, it is sufficient for the commercial purposes which this vehicle is usually used for. The solar battery installed on the roof of the vehicle allows you to increase the distance range without recharging from the mains. It completely restores the consumed charge over a few hours of downtime during the day. Matvey only once charged the battery from the mains in a 100 km run - and that given the Russian spring conditions. In countries with tropical latitudes, owners of such tricycles will not need either liquid fuel or electricity. If you do need to charge the battery from the mains, it can be done from zero in 3.5 hours..
An important advantage that Lobov's team worked for a long time is the ease of installing the kit. Anyone can easily install it on a tricycle instead of an internal combustion engine.
The modernized electric tricycle with Duyunov's motor promises to be in demand primarily in Asian countries, where this type of transport is very popular. With such an array of advantages that the "Slavyanka" technology provides, it significantly outperforms all the analogues available in the world market. Andrey Lobov, who is also a partner of the project "Duyunov's motor", expects that the future foreign customers of "Sovelmash" will get acquainted with the combined winding technology thanks to the tricycle.
