Questions&Answers. What are the prospects for the development of two-wheeled electric transport in Russia and worldwide

Not so long ago, Electroday 2020 was held in Moscow where a large number of two-wheeled electric vehicles were presented including those with combined winding motors. What are the real prospects for such vehicles in our country and abroad? And what are the chances of combined winding hub motors to become widely used?

Dmitriy Duyunov noted that two-wheeled electric transport in Russia had not not yet become as popular as it could be. For most regions, it is too expensive and not always convenient to use. The factor of cold climatic conditions is also important. That's the reason why currently in Russia, this transport is mainly used by amateur enthusiasts.

The Asian market is much more promising: India, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia with more than half of the world's population. Therefore, the only induction hub motor in the world developed by Duyunov's team has all the opportunities to succeed on the world market.

However, it is necessary to deal with a number of technical issues, as Dmitriy Duyunov put it, "to bring the hub motor to the level of a Kalashnikov rifle." In other words, we need to make it convenient, easy to use and reliable, at the same time the production of such hub motors requires very serious elaboration and high-level specialists.

The company "SovElMash" is working successfully and has achieved much in this area. Dmitriy Duyunov noted that the company was already ready to take orders for inhouse-developed encoders that are an important and quite expensive component of the electric drive system and are also used in conjunction with the hub motor.
