Comparative tests of tricycles with BLDC motors and with Duyunov's motor

Victor Arestov shared with us the results of comparative running tests for the tricycles conducted by one of the project partners.

6 models of tricycles were tested: one light-weight passenger tricycle, one utility tricycle and four cargo tricycles. 5 of the vehicles were equipped with BLDC magnetic motors, one vehicle named the "Ant" - with the DA-90S motor modernized using the "Slavyanka" technology. The vehicles were tested on various roads, including dirt roads.

Three types of tests were conducted:
- no-load test,
- test with a load,
- test with an increased load of 400 kg.

For detailed test results, view the table here - https://clck.ru/NDCc9

In no-load tests, the two tricycles had slightly lower power consumption than the "Ant" with the DA-90S motor. However, it should be taken into consideration that their weight is several times smaller.

In tests with a load, all tricycles, except for the passenger one, were loaded with 250 kg. The "Ant" with Duyunov's motor outdid the competitors throughout the whole range of performance parameters:
- less power consumption per kilometer of run distance,
- better speed performance.

In both tests without load and with a load, the DA-90S-powered tricycle reached its maximum speed of 50 km/h. The rivals had lower speed.

Only two vehicles were able to participate in the tests with an increased load of 400 kg: a vehicle with Duyunov's motor and a tricycle with the most powerful motor among the competitors. As a result, the "Ant" consumed 2 times less power!

When going uphill, the motor with "Slavyanka" pulled the tricycle with a driver even better than the competitors.

The climax of the tests, which only the "Ant" with Duyunov's motor ventured to do, was towing a car weighing more than a ton. The motor demonstrated its power and pulled not only the car, but also the weight of the tricycle (310 kg), the driver (more than 100 kg), and the cargo (400 kg). That is, a total of almost two tons. The speed of the tricycle was up to 25 km/h, the same as in competitors with magnetic motors but with no load.
