Tests of new motors with "Slavyanka" by ASPP Weihai

The production of the DA-100S and DA-100SL motors, which are modernized by applying the "Slavyanka" combined winding technology and are manufactured in China by ASPP Weihai, will be discontinued. According to Victor Arestov, the head of the company and partner of "Sovelmash", "they are being replaced by new four-pole ones, slightly smaller in size and weight, but with increased technical performance, both in efficiency and speed parameters."

The first tests of the new motor prototype have been carried out recently. The same prototypes were sent to "Sovelmash" for testing.

The 14kg motor, which is 2.5kg lighter than the DA-100S motor, performed excellently.

•  The maximum efficiency is 95%. In a very wide load range from 2 N·m to 28 N·m, the efficiency is above 90%. This range covers a significant portion of the workloads for both motorcycles and other vehicles. This figure has exceeded the achievements of all combined winding motors produced up to now by ASPP Weihai.
•  At a current of 240 A, the torque is the same as that provided by the DA-100S motor at 275 A.
•  It outperformed the DA-100S motor in speed characteristics by 50%.

Thus, the task of making an electric motor for a motorcycle with the speed of 110-120 km/h, without losing the acceleration characteristics, has been accomplished. The first motorcycle where the new motor will be installed is Denzel Liberty, produced at the Yipower Motors motorcycle factory. The video about the bike is available here https://youtu.be/ypYIgFPO590.
The same motor will replace the DA-100SL motor on cars where a speed of 70-80 km/h is required.

Another four-pole motor was also tested, but this time it was of size 80, weighing 9.8 kg, with an external stator diameter of 120 mm and a length of 85 mm (this is less than the DA-90S diameter and corresponds to size 80 of industrial motors). It will be used on lighter vehicles.

•  The maximum efficiency of the DA-80S motor is 89%.
•  At a current of 180 A, the motor produced a torque of 2 N·m more than the DA-90S motor. At 218 A, it demonstrated 47.7 N·m, which is 2.2 N·m more than that of DA-90S.
•  In terms of speed characteristics, the motor is equal to DA-90S and at 5000 rpm has the same characteristic of 10 N·m. Which is a very good indicator for such a small motor.
•  According to the preliminary calculations, the rated power of this motor should be 2.5-2.8 kW. The tests after setting up mass production will elaborate these calculations.
•  The peak power is 5.5 kW with a recommended maximum current of 220 A, while the DA-90S motor provides 10 kW with a current of up to 350 A. Therefore, the production of the DA-90S motor will also be continued.

Mass production of new electric motors with "Slavyanka" will be launched after the Chinese New Year celebration.
