"SovElMash" will receive a patent on the principle of mounting the hub motor

The specialists of "SovElMash" continue to enhance the combined winding hub motor. They've developed a combined mounting solution that allows to integrate the hub motor into the suspension.

The Federal Service for Intellectual Property of Russia has decided to grant a patent for this invention. The decision states that the invention meets the conditions of patentability, the priority of the patent is set by the application date, that is, as of April 21, 2020.
The corresponding document has been handed to the company "SovElMash". The patent search report was also received with it: this is an expert opinion report issued after analyzing the invention in compliance with all the required criteria, based on information obtained from the patent databases.
Information about the decision to grant the patent is published on the Rospatent (the Federal Service for Intellectual Property of Russia) website here https://www1.fips.ru/registers-doc-view/fips_servlet

"SovElMash" has already paid the due state taxes and will soon receive the new patent, which we'll definitely let you know about.

The patent describes the general principle of mounting the hub motor that can be applied to various motor dimensions due to connecting the power elements to the suspension and hub motor. The new hub motor design enables using it not only for bicycles, motorcycles, but also cars, armored personnel carriers and other heavy-weight equipment.

The distinctive features of the new design:
- it now has a console part,
- implemented ability to adjust the suspension clearance,
- significantly reduced unsprung weight.
And these are not all the advantages of the new solution.

The specialists of "SovElMash" also managed to solve the problem related to the encoder, which is an important and rather expensive component of the electric drive system and is used in conjunction with the hub motor.
Now all of these innovative solutions are the company's intellectual property.

To recap, the hub motor developed by Duyunov's team is unique in itself, being the only induction hub motor in the world. It implements the combined winding technology "Slavyanka". However, the developers are not going to stop there, and are gradually solving the technical issues in order to, as Dmitriy Duyunov has put it, "bring the hub motor to the level of a Kalashnikov assault rifle." In other words, to make the development reliable and easy to use.
