News from the construction site of "Sovelmash" D&E | Backfilling the foundation pit with layer-by-layer compaction

In the new video from the "Alabushevo" construction site, you will see the process of casting and waterproofing concrete foundations, backfilling the pit, putting up the formwork, installing conductors, and more.

Backfilling the soil is the final stage of erecting the foundations. The stability of the foundation depends on the quality of compaction. Sand is usually used as a compactor, and backfill is carried out in layers. According to the approved project documentation, in accordance with which the current construction activities are carried out, the layer thickness should not exceed 200-300 mm. After filling each layer, it must be compacted with a roller, which is clearly demonstrated in the video. After that, each layer of sand is checked with a density meter, and if it corresponds to the density specified in the project documentation, the next layer of sand is laid. This way, layer by layer, the required mark is reached.

The work has also been underway to align the formwork for the 3rd concrete casting at the -200 mm mark and to install the conductors and embedded parts for further concreting of the foundation. In the future, it is planned to concrete the foundation base for the stairwell.
