Power industry news: fast charging stations for electric cars are to get tax incentives in Russia
14 三月 2022
The new decree was signed in February by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Fast charging stations have been included in the list of high energy efficiency facilities and technologies. This refers to DC-powered electric charging stations with a capacity of 150 kW and a charging period of up to 30 minutes.
The producers and owners of these stations will enjoy the following incentives:
- investment tax loan,
- increasing coefficients to the depreciation rate,
- property tax exemption.
Thus, the Russian government will stimulate the development of domestic infrastructure for electric cars, whose fleet in Russia is growing. According to the analytical agency "Autostat", in 2021 three times more electric cars were sold in the country than the year before. The Russian government predicts that by 2030 the fleet of electric cars will reach 1.4 million cars thanks to implementing the state concept of electric transport development. By this time, a chain of 29,000 fast electric charging stations is planned to be deployed in Russia.
There is a company that produces similar stations among the residents of the "Technopolis Moscow" special economic zone.
What significance does this news have for the project "Duyunov's motors" and "Sovelmash"? Developing the electric transport industry in Russia, especially in the context of the import substitution policy, will contribute to the growth of interest in domestic developments. The "Sovelmash" engineering center under construction will be able to offer to Russian customers electric motors that have no rivals worldwide in terms of energy efficiency and other performance indicators.
The prospects of "Sovelmash" in the domestic market of traction motors are getting more solid. Of course, the company's capabilities are not limited to that: the company will primarily develop general purpose industrial motors, which is even more commercially viable.
