Highlights of the "Sovelmash" D&E construction at stage 16: construction and funding results

Funding stage 16 in the project "Duyunov's motors" is nearing completion. It's become pivotal in the "Sovelmash" engineering center construction.

At stage 16 the most important construction tasks have been finalized: from completing the foundation construction to installing the metal frame and roof. It has become possible thanks to careful preparation at all the previous project stages.

Let's look back at how the construction has progressed over the last six months.

Stage 16 in the project funding started on May 20, 2021. And on May 25, the official ceremony of burying the "Sovelmash" time capsule was held at the construction site in "Technopolis "Moscow".
On June 3, the first girder in the metal structures of the building was installed, and in mid-September, the installation of the metal frame was completed. In less than four months, the builders fully assembled the testing-and-production and office-and-amenity buildings, as well as the storage facilities of the D3333E. The metal frame was manufactured and installed by Astron, the construction subcontractor.
Concrete casting of elevator shafts and staircases began in July. Now it is nearing completion.
In August, work on laying internal utilities and checking the sewerage system tightness started.
In August, the zero cycle of the D3333E construction was completed: the work on erecting the foundation, which began in February 2021, was completed.
In September, the roofing work began, most of which has been completed by now.
In October, the installation of the basement panels for the entire building was completed.
On November 2, the casting of concrete interfloor slabs for the third floor began. It was preceded by a long period of preparation: laying profiled sheets of permanent formwork, their waterproofing, laying and strapping metal reinforced mesh and reinforced frame, as well as warming up before pouring concrete. Currently, concrete pouring of the 3rd floor interfloor slabs is underway, at the same time, preparations are in progress for similar work on the second floor.
On November 19, installing the inner part of the building walls started. These partitions will provide protection from the wind, the building will freeze less, which will reduce the amount of additional work required to pour concrete in cold weather. The concrete will gain the necessary strength faster, which will allow the following activities to be carried out in accordance with the schedule. Once the interior walls and then the exterior walls are installed, the thermal circuit of the building will be closed and it will be possible to begin interior finishing.

To recap, the "Sovelmash" design and engineering technology department is built on a 2.1-hectare land plot at the "Alabushevo" site of the "Technopolis "Moscow" special economic zone. The D3333E will develop electric motors by applying the unique "Slavyanka" technology to meet the customers needs. The construction is scheduled to be completed in the autumn of 2022.

A considerable part of the construction work has been completed, but there are still many tasks ahead that require the support of investors. The global economic crisis, the upturn of the dollar against the ruble, a surge in prices in the construction industry have increased the amount needed to complete the project. At the same time, the "Sovelmash" team succeeded in preventing the project from becoming even more costly thanks to advance payments for the equipment and materials, namely, for the metal structures that make the building frame. According to the information provided by Dmitriy Duyunov that he announced at the final online conference, the amount required for the project presumably amounts to about $ 60 million at the current dollar exchange rate.
