Weekly update on the Duyunov Motors project
Sovelmash is not wasting time while awaiting the permit to put the facility into operation, step by step mastering mass-production technologies, bringing equipment online, and immediately producing pilot batches of parts on it.
• We have begun developing the technology for casting the stator stack and sleeve into the frame. This is a stator for aircraft induction motors of frame size 305, which have no counterparts worldwide. Mass-production technologies are being refined and the tooling is being fine-tuned. Whereas previously manufacturing the frame took more than 24 hours, it now takes up to 2 minutes. Aluminum alloy consumption has decreased by a factor of 9-10.
• We have started setting up the hot press-fit process for mounting rotors onto the shaft.
• Work has continued on releasing the first batch of angle grinders. The mold for casting the angle grinder impeller has arrived. Components that improve the product’s appearance, reliability, and performance are being manufactured and fitted. The expected start of sales for the first batch is late May.
Current promotions
We remind you that the final opportunity to reinstate the installment plan in the project is available through April 30 inclusive.
