NOVA-01 and NOVA-2 airships: preparing for the first flight and making a nacelle
More about the project.
The AERONOVA team continues step-by-step preparations for the launch and testing of the NOVA-01 airship.
The following are connected and tested in operation:
• On-board computer
• Power supply system
• Rotary beam and propulsion engines
• Tail unit and thrusters
All the key systems are connected, operational and undergoing final adjustments. We are currently fine-tuning the missing components and preparing for the installation of a network of sensors that will be used for capturing flight parameters: speed, pressure, temperature and other important data.
Earlier we have checked the shell:
• assessed air-tightness and strength,
• carried out an initial fitting of assemblies, fasteners and compartments.
Everything was in line with the drawings and calculations: the components are assembled accurately, we can proceed to launching the electronics and control systems.
At the same time, we are coordinating with the airfield administration the dates and details of the tests and the first flight. We will tell you more soon!
Work on the nacelle for the NOVA-2 airship is underway.
We held an extended meeting with the leading engineers and designers of the project. The key contractors responsible for calculations and conceptual solutions for the nacelle arrived, too.
Issues discussed:
• engineering approaches,
• assembly layout logic,
• materials and assembly procedures.
The immediate plans include making a working model, which will allow to visualize the entire structure, engineering solutions and internal utilities.
The work is proceeding in a reliable, step-by-step manner, with the involvement of the best professionals!
