How the "Slavyanka" technology is saving Thailand's rivers

In 2019, a project to convert gasoline-powered boats to electric power was launched in Thailand. Victor Arestov, a partner of "Sovelmash" and head of ASPP Weihai, is its participant. The boats were fitted with "Slavyanka" combined winding motors and solar panels.

The video about the modernized vehicles is available on Victor Arestov's YouTube channel at the link. Use subtitles to watch the video in your language.

Thai boats with internal combustion engines are widely used in the popular tourist area, the Damnoen Saduak floating market. They cause great damage to the environment, pollute rivers, and deteriorate the quality of life for city residents. Converting boats from gasoline to electric is necessary to save the environment.

The project is personally supported by the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand. In 2020, the region's department of ecology was created. Leading experts from local universities and colleges have been involved in creating the fleet of Thai boats.

As a result, there are now several dozen boats with solar panels and motors modernized by ASPP Weihai using the "Slavyanka" technology in the tourist area. The upgraded vehicles do not pollute the river or make noise. And thanks to the advantages of the motor, they do not need to be charged from the mains and run only on solar power, charging directly while in use and when parked.

More and more boats are using the DA-112SL motor, suitable for carrying ten or more passengers. A total ban on boats with internal combustion engines is under consideration in Thailand to improve the environment.

The "Slavyanka" technology and combined winding electric motors are becoming more and more popular and in demand in different countries. And this only benefits "Sovelmash" by creating demand for the services of the future engineering center.

Victor Arestov will be one of the speakers at the SOLARGROUP International Conference in Moscow on August 6. He will talk about the projects under which the technology is being promoted in Asia and other countries. Attend the conference in person to learn about it firsthand. Learn more about the event here.
