Electric AT vehicle based on "Slavyanka": why and how it is being modernized at "Sovelmash"
Work on electric motors for the eight-wheeled all-terrain vehicle is in full swing in the "Sovelmash" winding shop. This is a former BTR-80A armored personnel carrier that was demilitarized and turned into a vehicle.
Each of the wheels on the all-terrain vehicle will be equipped with a combined winding "Slavyanka" motor. Electric motors from the size-100 AIR series have been chosen as donors. Now the "Sovelmash" specialists are modernizing them. To find out exactly how they are doing it, watch the video.
The modernized armored personnel carrier will cover a much greater distance than the factory-made one with an internal combustion engine. And in general, the vehicle will become much more efficient.
For "Sovelmash", the armored personnel carrier is a workbench that makes it possible to refine a number of technologies and show the advantages of its product.
The electric all-terrain vehicle will be presented at the major international exhibition "Army-2022" in the civil engineering sector. For "Sovelmash", participation in the exhibition is an opportunity to make a strong statement in front of major potential customers.
