The Statista service has compiled a list of the most expensive "unicorns" on the planet as of September 2020. To recap, the name of the mythical animal is applied to startups with a market valuation of over $1 billion.

These are the top ten world leaders according to the market valuation:

1. ByteDance (Artificial intelligence) China - $140 billion
2. Didi Chuxing (Transport) China – $56 billion
3. SpaceX (Aerospace) USA – $46 billion
4. Stripe (Fintech) US – $36 billion
5. Palantir Technologies (Data management) USA – $20 billion
6. Airbnb (Travel) USA – $18 billion
7. Kuaishou (Mobile communications) China – $18 billion
8. Epic Games (Video games) USA – $17.3 billion
9. One97 Communications (E-commerce) India – $16 billion
10. DoorDash (Logistics) USA - $16 billion
