Launch of production at the Sovelmash DETB: what has been done and what still lies ahead

Construction of the Design and Engineering Technology Bureau "Sovelmash" has been completed, and after obtaining the Certificate of Conformity (CCR), an equally important stage awaits us — the launch of production.

Preparatory work is in full swing, as the launch of series production takes time. We are currently mastering and fine-tuning technological processes, and wherever possible, motor components are already being manufactured.

• Stator segments are stamped on a press and formed into stacks, then shipped to the warehouse.
• Slot insulation is then installed on them.
• A coil insertion machine has recently arrived — it is currently being set up, and we will soon begin inserting windings for angle grinder motors.
• A cold heading machine is being connected, which will enable the production of motor shafts.
• In parallel, "Sovelmash" specialists are preparing other equipment for operation.

What else is needed to launch series production?

Availability of equipment. The main equipment is already on site and has largely undergone commissioning.
Availability of technological tooling. These are molds and other tooling, which are ordered separately. Some of them still need to be procured.
Mastering the processes. This is a labor-intensive and important stage — to set up and fine-tune all technological processes.

Some technological operations are still pending, as there is insufficient tooling or equipment for them. However, significant progress has already been made.

All this is not just preparation, but a transition to a new status: "Sovelmash" is gradually transforming from a construction site into an operating enterprise.
