Weekly summary for the Duyunov Motors project

Weekly summary for the Duyunov Motors project

News from DETB Sovelmash

• Installation of a chip briquetting unit. This reduces costs for transporting and disposing of metal shavings by processing them into bar stock, thereby saving on raw material expenses.

• Installation of a vacuum impregnation system. This speeds up and improves winding impregnation, which increases motor lifespan. It is suitable for angle grinders, the Motylek drone, elevator winches, and other products.

• Two winding section machines. These ensure uninterrupted operation of the production line, eliminating bottlenecks in the manufacturing process.

• A winding insertion machine. This automates the process, replacing manual labor and increasing productivity.

All machines have been installed at their designated workstations.

DETB received electrical steel for manufacturing the stator and rotor segments for the size 318 motor. The parts will be produced by stamping and then assembled into segments and stacks. This approach significantly reduces raw material consumption and allows the use of less powerful crank presses, making tooling more cost-effective as well.

Work continued on improving the design of the Motylek drone’s electric motor. Previously, the outer diameter of the motor used as a propeller drive was reduced by 50 mm. Subsequently, the rotor housing was eliminated altogether, resulting in an outer diameter of 305 mm instead of the previous 318 mm. These rotor design changes were made to increase efficiency, achieve a higher maximum torque, and improve the current waveform. Initial tests conducted last week showed that a good current waveform has been achieved. The current main objective is to ensure that the drive based on this motor can provide a thrust of 250 kg without overheating for at least 30 minutes.

DETB Sovelmash develops and manufactures energy-efficient asynchronous motors based on the patented Slavyanka technology, and also creates equipment for advanced technologies.

A meeting was held at the Moscow State Construction Supervision Authority with representatives of Sovelmash to address the process of obtaining the completion certificate and commissioning the facility. Partial operation of the facility was recognized as a necessary measure in the current situation, and no consequences will follow from this. Next steps were outlined to bring the company closer to obtaining the construction completion certificate.
