"Sovelmash" D&E construction: report by Astron

The "Sovelmash" construction site was visited by the Astron specialists, the construction project subcontractor. The guests included experienced engineers who developed metal structures for the D&E. They saw how the design and engineering technology department they had been involved in developing was being built.

In addition, some new Astron employees also visited the construction site. They were given a tour by the Astron project manager and a foreman from the partner company involved in the installation. The visit to the construction site left the guests with a lot of impressions, because the construction of such buildings is a rare phenomenon requiring non-standard solutions. What struck them most was the D&E scale. The specialists will be able to use the gained experience in their future work.

To recap, Astron designs, manufactures and supplies metal building structures. For the "Sovelmash" D&E, the company manufactured and assembled the metal frame, installed the building envelopes and windows, and is engaged in thermal insulation of the walls. In other words, it assembled almost the entire building frame.
