"Sovelmash" developments: "Slavyanka" in electric power tools
The "Sovelmash" team works daily on the original inhouse developments, along with the D&E construction! Many of the company's developments have already found their application in different areas. More than 20 developments have been recently presented at the "Army-2022" forum. "Sovelmash" is getting ready for the "ElectroTrans" exhibition, which is to be held on September 21-23 in Expocentre on Krasnaya Presnya in Moscow.
Some of the developments are related to the field of power tools that are in demand today and are applicable in everyday life. Everyone who works with power tools wants to get multifunctional equipment, suitable for specific tasks, as reliable as possible and at a minimum price! It is almost impossible to combine these criteria, you have to find a trade-off. In addition, such equipment requires constant maintenance, is not always easy to use, and its service life is not guaranteed even by the high price. "Sovelmash" addressed this problem and created a universal built-in induction drive based on the "Slavyanka" technology. Here are just a few examples of its use:
1. Angle grinder
The 2.3 kW angle grinder (commutatorless, without permanent magnets) with a "Sovelmash" induction motor and controller was the first project with the use of a universal built-in induction drive based on the "Slavyanka" technology. Depending on the configuration, it is possible to make angle grinder versions with a quick stop system, soft start and the option to adjust the RPM. Samples of this type of angle grinders are currently being tested. Agreements have been reached with a production partner in China.
2. Mitre saw
The mitre saw with a drive developed by "Sovelmash" has a number of advantages in operation:
• no shock currents are generated when the saw blade accelerates;
• the rpm can be adjusted, which will be useful for cutting different materials, such as aluminum, wood, etc;
• a security system is provided;
• the rpm under load is stable;
• the power consumption is reduced.
3. Lawnmower
The "Sovelmash" specialists used a developed universal built-in induction motor with the "Slavyanka" combined winding and a controller to operate the motor here too. And the results are:
• same dimensions, but higher efficiency and improved reliability of operation;
• high rpm stability under load - speed over 3000 rpm, which makes it possible to mow young lawns.
These are far from all the opportunities the "Slavyanka" combined winding induction motors offer! The developed universal drive is suitable for vacuum cleaners, meat grinders, food processors, etc.
