Investment activity of "Duyunov's motors" project participants. Survey results

Last week, we conducted a survey on how your investment activity has changed during the global crisis caused by the spread of COVID-19. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the survey! We received responses from 197 members of our community. Today we are summing up the results.

Key findings:
- The majority of the participants in our communities (39 %) have not changed their investment behavior, despite the impact of negative trends in the economy. At the same time, 15% of the respondents began to invest more, while 35 % reduced the amount of investments.

- The most promising investment project named was "Duyunov's motors" (19 %), as well as IT and energy industry projects (17% each), healthcare and space industry projects (11% each). Traditional types of investments, such as investments in foreign currencies, are considered promising by only 8 % of the participants, real estate - by 6%, and precious metals - by only 4 %. Some participants added their own options for potentially profitable investment areas: artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, metallurgical waste recycling using plasma, ventures and startups.

- Half of the respondents (52 %) have salary as their only income, 18 % are entrepreneurs, 14 % earn extra money in addition to their main job, 6 % get a pension or other social benefits. Only 3 % of the survey participants get income from deposits and dividends, and another 1 % - rent out real estate.

- Russian-speaking and French-speaking investors, as well as the residents of Bulgaria and Vietnam were the most active in answering the questions.

- There are differences in the behavior of investors from different countries during the pandemic: 49 % of the Russian-speaking respondents and 73% of the participants from Bulgaria reported that the crisis hadn't affected their investment activity, while the situation in Vietnam is dramatically different: 81% of the participants reported a decrease in their activity. The crisis did not affect only 29 % of people from the French-speaking regions, the remaining 38 % began to invest less, and 27 % increased their activity. Interestingly, the largest share of responses about the investment growth came from the French-speaking audience in our survey.

- Half of the survey participants (50 %) started investing not so long ago: from 1 to 3 years. These statistics confirm the gradual growth of interest in this area, as well as the growing dynamics of financial literacy of people around the world. Another 29 % of the respondents have been investing for more than 3 years, and 17% - for less than a year.
