Dmitry Duyunov on the production of the first batch of angle grinders, challenges with the supply of machine tools and metal
The Sovelmash team continues to work on launching mass production while simultaneously addressing documentation and supplier issues.
Meeting at Technopolis Moscow and new requirements
A meeting was held with the management of Technopolis Moscow. The discussion covered obtaining the permit for commissioning, as well as the introduction of an additional requirement for residents under which they must guarantee a specified average wage level for their employees.
Challenges with Chinese equipment and metal supplies
Chinese-supplied equipment is delivered with serious shortcomings. For example, a slotting machine operated only briefly—upon disassembly it turned out that lubrication was not being supplied and the necessary assemblies for this were missing. Sovelmash specialists are successfully resolving these issues by refining and improving the equipment. Another challenge is the supply of substandard metal. Thanks to its in-house laboratory, Sovelmash identifies cases of misrepresented specifications and filters out unsuitable raw materials.
The first batch of angle grinders
Daily meetings are being held on producing the first batch of angle grinder units. The components, documentation, and tooling are ready. However, as work progresses, nuances emerge and fine-tuning is underway; all parts are being accumulated in the warehouse. Twenty days are allocated for assembling the first batch. We are now at a stage where schedules must be strictly observed.
Testing the Motylek drone
For the first time this year, the drone was launched outdoors. Today, Motylek was taken outside and flown at a low altitude. A nearby electronic warfare station jammed the telemetry. Despite this, the tests yielded some data. Further flights will be conducted via a physical connection, without a radio link.
On the sales strategy
More than ten thousand potential Sovelmash partners are registered in the sales program. The company is focusing on engaged investors rather than hired store managers. This provides a completely different level of motivation and sales potential that traditional channels cannot match.
We remind you that until April 30, the project offers a final opportunity to reinstate installment plans. Find out the details!
